Clock learning: questions from parents

Is Tick Tock free to use?

Yes. The current clock lessons and playground are free and do not require an account.

Who is it for?

It is designed for young children learning to tell the time with a parent or teacher. Begin with recognising the hands; move on when the child feels comfortable, rather than following a fixed age or timetable.

Can my child practise without a timer?

Yes. Each lesson has five untimed questions, hints, and retries. All seven lessons are available from the start. Stars celebrate completed lessons.

Can we use it on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Tap Move hands to drag on a touchscreen. Tap Done moving when you want to scroll. You can also use the + and − buttons. With a keyboard, focus a clock hand and use the arrow keys.

Why can’t I move the clock during a question?

Reading questions keep the clock fixed and hide the digital answer so your child can work out the time. Setting questions let your child move the hands to match a target.

Does it teach in Hindi?

The written interface is English. Listen provides Hindi explanations with English clock words when a suitable device voice is available. Parents settings also offer English. Voice availability and pronunciation vary by browser and device.

Can I reduce the animations?

Yes. Open Parents settings and turn on Calm mode. The app also respects your device’s reduced-motion preference. Clock playback remains available when you choose to explore moving hands.

Where is progress saved?

In this browser on this device. There is no online account or cross-device sync. Private browsing or clearing site data can remove progress. Parents settings include a reset option for stars and completed lessons.

Does it work offline?

The downloadable LearnTime.html file contains the clock activities and works offline. Speech may need a connection depending on the installed voice. The separate support pages need to be downloaded too if you want to read them offline.
